About us

Here at the Grooming Garage, I am a home based, one on one salon. I aspire to treating every pet as my own. I strive to provide the best care for each pet that comes through my doors. I provide bath and brush packages as well as full groom packages.

Policies

• Cancellation Policy
  I understand that things do come up, and life does happen, but we do have to make sure we are still able to take care of our employees too. I value you choosing me as your groomer, and I set aside time exclusively for you! In the event that you need to cancel or modify an appointment, I kindly ask that you do so by 12pm the day prior to your appointment time to avoid a cancellation fee. If you cancel prior to noon on the day before your scheduled appointment, there is NO fee. If you cancel after 12pm on the day before your scheduled appointment, half of the grooming services fee will be due prior to rebooking.
• No-Show Policy
  We kindly ask that you cancel your appointment in advance so that we can fill your spot with someone on our cancellation list. 10 minutes after your scheduled appointment without any notification your appointment will be considered a no show - this will result in a no-show fee. The no show fee is the full grooming price.
• Late Policy
  We ask that all our clients try to arrive 5 minutes prior to their appointment time. If you are running late, we will do our best to still accommodate you given our time constraints. After 10 minutes there will be a $20 service fee per dog with an additional $1 per minute per dog applied to your groom if we are still able to accommodate your dog that day.
• Pick Up Policy
  As I am one on one, I need pets picked up in a timely manner. I schedule appointments 15-30 minutes apart to allow some extra time for pick up. I give a 20-minute heads up to finishing your pet's groom. If you need more time to pick up, please let me know at drop off if you need more than 20 minutes to get here. Repeat late pickups will incur fees.
• Inclement Weather
  Since I am home based, I will defer to District 11's school closures. However, I will play by ear day to day with the weather and leave it up to you as the client on whether you want to brave driving conditions.
• Matted Coats
  Mats can be difficult to remove and may require the pet to be shaved. Removing a heavily matted coat can cause nicks, cuts, or abrasions. Heavy matting can also trap moisture and urine near the pet’s skin, allowing mold, fungus or bacteria to grow, and/or revealing skin irritations that existed prior to the grooming process. After-effects of the mat removal can include itchiness, redness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions, and failure of hair to regrow. In some cases, pets may also exhibit brief behavioral changes. In the case of discovering matting that I unable to be humanely brushed out, I will contact to let pet parents know what is happening, and proceed to remove matts.
• Senior Dogs (For Dogs, 8yrs+)
  Because we care about your pet’s well-being and safety, we want to assure you that every effort will be made to make your senior pet’s grooming experience as pleasant as possible. Occasionally, grooming can expose a hidden medical condition or aggravate a current one. This can occur during or after grooming. By signing below, you acknowledge that your pet has a medical condition and/or is a senior pet. You also acknowledge that grooming can cause stress, which can lead to new problems or serious medical events and that senior dogs may have mental and behavioral changes. You also acknowledge that your pet is being groomed for comfort, not appearance.
• Aggression
  You MUST inform The Grooming Garage if your pet bites, has bitten or is aggressive to people, other pets or specific grooming procedures. Muzzles may be used if necessary. Muzzling will not harm your pet and protects both the pet and the groomer. The Grooming Garage reserves the right to refuse/stop services for such pet(s) at any time before, during or after the grooming process should your pet exhibit aggressive behavior.
• Photography
  We take photos of every pet that comes through our doors. The photos are being used as advertising and educational purposes. If you would rather us not share photos of your pet, please let us know and we can make note of it.
