Some pets may respond differently to grooming, even with the best efforts. We’ll make it a positive experience. Current vaccinations and veterinarian information are required. Proof of Rabies vaccination is necessary. Special circumstances may be considered. Pre-existing conditions like skin allergies, shampoo allergies, moles, clipper sensitivity, matting, fleas, fear, behavioral issues, bone or joint sensitivity, heart conditions, seizures, etc., should be informed to the salon. Owners must inform groomers if their pets bite, have bitten, or are aggressive to people, other pets, or specific grooming procedures. E-collars or muzzles may be used if necessary. Muzzling protects both the pet and the groomer. Comfort Cuts Pet Salon reserves the right to refuse or stop services for aggressive pets at any time before or during grooming and charges an Aggressive Dog Fee in addition to the regular grooming charge. The owner is responsible for all medical costs, recovery costs, including physical therapy and lost wages, if the pet injures someone during grooming. Health or medical problems can make grooming stressful for senior pets or pets with health issues. Grooming will focus on cleanliness and comfort, avoiding styles that may increase stress. This contract gives the groomer permission to seek immediate veterinary treatment if necessary. All veterinary expenses will be covered by the pet’s owner upon signing. Mat removal requires extra attention. Mats can tighten, strangle skin, or tear it open. Comfort Cuts Pet Salon won’t continue dematting. Mats can be difficult to remove and may require shaving. Removing heavily matted coats involves risks of nicks, cuts, or abrasions due to trapped warts, moles, or skin folds. Heavy matting can trap moisture and urine, causing mold, fungus, or bacteria growth and skin irritations. Torn skin can harbor maggots. After effects include itchiness, redness, bruising, self-inflicted irritations, or hair regrowth failure. Shaved pets are prone to sunburn and should use sunscreen daily or stay out of the sun until their hair grows. Some pets may exhibit brief behavioral changes. Regular grooming prevents matting and incurs an extra charge. Shaving a double coat is against Comfort Cuts Pet Salons policy. It removes a dog’s ability to regulate body temperature, increasing the risk of overheating and sunburn. The hair may not grow back the same, patchily, oily, with different textures, or not at all. By requesting a haircut on a double-coated pet, you agree to the risks and that Comfort Cuts Pet Salon has explained them. Accidents can occur with grooming equipment, even with extreme caution. Possible problems include cuts, nicks, scratches, and quicking of nails. An excited pet can be dangerous, so we may end the session if you insist on being present, even if the grooming isn’t completed, and charge the full price. If you suspect your pet has fleas or ticks, take prompt action. Flea infestations can lead to tapeworm and other health problems. If found during grooming, your pet will be treated with a natural product to kill the parasites and charged. We won’t use pesticide dips or sprays. Ticks found will be removed for an additional charge. If ticks are found, strongly suggest having your pet tested for Lyme Disease. Parasites are a health hazard to pets and humans. Late drop-off and/or pick-up: Comfort Cuts Pet Salon aims to keep pets here for a limited time. If you’re late, please notify us immediately. Your appointment will be vacated, treated as a walk-in, and your groom will be finished between arriving pets. All pets must be picked up within an hour of notification. Failure to do so may result in a boarding fee. For later pick-ups, plan ahead. Deposits/No-shows: A $25 deposit is required for bookings. It’s applied to the total groom cost at checkout. No-shows incur a half-off charge for 1” offenses and full charges for further offenses. Hold Harmless Agreement: By signing, you agree to not hold Comfort Cuts Pet Salon or Pet Palace harmless from any damage, loss, or claim arising from the contracts or releases located at 1800 Brundage Ln Bakersfield California 93304.
